Irish Logic

In Ireland, they have changed the way car number plates are done. This caused June 2013 to be a slow month and sales were brisk on the first day of July. To make this point, an Irish website made this statement:

Yesterday, the first day of the new '132' registration plate, 1,927 new cars were sold, compared to just 1 on the same day last July.

The article went on to make other
points, but then made this comment:

To put this into context, though, it should be noted that July 1st last year was a Sunday.

When I read this I laughed and laughed. Talk about blowing your argument out of the water. There may be many more cars being sold, but comparing Monday with Sunday sales in Ireland is hardly doing your argument any justice.
